A chapel is marked on the island on OS Digimap at NC664641. Pont's map (1583 x 1596) also shows a chapel symbol on the island. NMRS (Canmore ID 5793) reveals a tradition of a chapel or monastery on the island, including OS Name Book's identification of it as St Columba's Chapel, but says there is no archaeological evidence for it.
