It lies south of the parish kirk of Drumblade. According to a record circa 1724, 'At Chappelton [presumably = OS Kirktown] is an old chappel with a well dedicated to St Hilary'. According to NMRS it is *Sanct Hilair's Well, commemorating St Hilary. It was fenced and still in use in 1961.
