Notes
The market stance lies to the north of Wrangham, concerning which RMS vii no. 1717 notes (in 1617) a fair: 'Sanct-Serffis-Fair super terris de Wranghame'. In 1724 it was noted, 'To the N.W. of the Church, about ½ on the brow of the hill stands a great yearly Fair called St. Serf's Fair, and by corrupting the name St. Sare's Fair, holden last Tuesday of June' (Geog. Coll. i, 16).
