The name is an earlier one for the parish kirk of Logie Buchan. W. J. Watson mentions that there was a fair at this kirk, though he gives no date for it, 'in festo S. Tallericani', and that there was a well dedicated to the saint close to the church called 'St Tarkin's Well'.
