Notes
But note that the Aberdeen Breviary (Macquarrie, 248) has a record for a St Colman, bishop and confessor. A St Colmnan is celebrated on 16 October, while on 17 October, the feast of St Regulus is celebrated, when there has been no celebration for him in Lent, and added on (perhaps as a typographers error with respect to the previous day's celebration: 'et Colmanus habetur patronus apud Balheluy' (and Colmán is held as patron of Belhelvie). This is Belhelvie Old Parish Church, now in ruins. 'The holy water stoup from the medieval church is in the garden of Belhelvie Manse' (NMRS, in 1935).
