Notes

On the island of Skeabost in an enclosure containing several buildings. For a description of the site and the surviving remains of the buildings see NMRS. The objection of WD Simpson, cited by NMRS, that this dedication was not that of Columba of Iona ('whose genuine foudnations always bore the name Columkille') should be dismissed. The church complex here was, for a while, the bishop's seat.
