The settlement lies on the parish boundary between a former long narrow tongue of Dull parish which used to stretch across the R. Tay into the hills on its south side. At its north end it was bounded on east and west by two detached parts of Weem parish. At its southern end it was bounded on the west by Kenmore, on the east by a detached part of Fortingall.
