Notes
The ford crosses the River Bran, which here forms the boundary between Little Dunkeld (to the north) and Dull (to the south) (OS 6 inch 1st edn). Watson notes that 'One of the two Amulree markets used to be held on the first Tuesday and Wednesday of May' (1926, 289). The feast of Maol Rubha appears in surviving Scottish records on 27 August, but this is probably a result of confusion/conflation with Rufus of Capua who has that feast in the Roman Martyrology. Irish martyrologies celebrate Maol Rubha on 21 April, close to the day of the Amulree market.
