Notes
OS Name Book (2,36) states that it is 'a rugged precipice on the north side of Weather Hill joining the parish boundary'. It is this liminal position, in the north-west corner of DFL, which probably gave rise to the name, signalling the boundary of the parish whose chief saint was St Margaret'.
