Notes

For discussion of the name and the site, see Taylor with Márkus i, 392, 418-9. This church was one of the properties which David I gave into the protection of the bishop of Dunkeld, to be held of Inchcolm until canons were established there (Inchcolm Chrs. no. 1). It was a chapel with lands lying on the lands of Tyrie, and remains of the chapel were apparently still visible in the late nineteenth century (Taylor with Márkus i, 392).
