Notes

The existing remains date to 'the Anglo-Norman period', probably on the site of an earlier church or monastery. A hogback stone, now in NMS, seems to have originated in this kirkyard (NMS Accession no: IB 289). A fragment of a ninth-century cross shaft waas found here, now in the possession of the Earl of Haddington. (Canmore ID: 57714).
