Is linear feature?
No
Notes
The settlement as shown on OS 6 inch map stands about 20 metres north of 'site of Chapel' on the same map. There is nothing to show the site of the settlement now. It is a ploughed field. At the chapel site NMRS records that bones had been ploughed up in the past, and that the monks of Newbattle had a court-house or chapel in New Monkland at the site of the Kipps Burn.
