Notes
This church lies on the southern boundary of what is now Covington parish, where it marches with Symington parish. This was probably also the southern boundary of Thankerton parish, before that was absorbed into Covinton. NMRS records (Canmore ID 47471) the location of the church, its collapse when Thankerton was united to Covington, and the finding of a 'golden image' of the Virgin. To the west on St John's Kirk Hill (OS 6 inch 1st edn) is St John's Kirk Wood (OS Digimap).
