This is marked on OS 6" 1st edn. Modern maps indicate only a cross. The Old Statistical Account is the first record of a tradition that St Connel was buried here. The New Statistical Account, however, says that 'the writer could never discover the smallest vestige of the saint's grave' (4, 316). A modern cross has been erected on the site (NMRS).
