Notes
Though the name in the form given does not appear in the record, the Aberdeen Breviary for 23rd September, the feast of Adomnán, states: Sancti Adampnani abbatis patroni apud Furui Aberdonensis dyocesis ('of St Adomnan the abbot, patron at Forvie in the diocese of Aberdeen'). Presumably Forvie was highlighted as his cult centre, because it was in that diocese, where the breviary was made. Note that there is a chapel dedicated to Adomnán in the same parish, at Slains (q.v.).
