Is linear feature?
No
Notes
Auchenblane abuts the settlement of Blanefield; both may be related to the lands of Suthblan(e), given along with lands at Crossraguel to Paisley Abbey before 1226. This may be for Suidhe Blááin--there is a low hill betweem Blanfield and Auchenblane which might represent this.

Saints in this place-name
Bláán (ns) (maybe) Saints are unusual in place-names in achadh 'field', but this name seems to be related to that of Suthblane, mentioned in the earliest grant of land which later became Crossraguell Abbey. Blanefield and Auchenblane may thus be related to that earlier place-name, probably 'Bláán's Seat', cf. Suidhe Blááin in Bute.
