Notes
The NGR given is for the area around OS Powton, as the croft appears to be part of the lands of Powton in 1473: 'terras de Poltoune, viz. 16 mercatas, et croftam S. Johannis dimediam mercatam'. However, this is by no means certain; the following objects mentioned in the prior's grant are the garden and 20 merks of land of Cruggleton (which is in Sorbie parish), and a little later 4 1/2 merks of the lands of Kirkmaiden, which is in Glasserton parish on the west side of the peninsula.
