For the cult of Cuthbert in Girvan, note also NAS GD25/1/37 Charter by Finlaw Shenan of Caruchan to Gilbert Kennedy, son of the deceased Alexander Kennedy of Ardstyncher, of the lands of Lagangel lying in the Parish of Girvan and Earldom of Carrick; Proceeding on the resignation of William Mackenzel; To be holden of the said Finlaw Shenan of Caruchan and his heirs blanch, for payment yearly of a pair of gloves in the Church of Girvan on the Feast of St. Cuthbert. 22 Jul 1450 NAS GD25/1/138 Charter by Maurice Macquarry of Knocknonsauch to Roger Macquarry, of the 3 merk land of Knocknonsauch, lying in the Parish of Girvan and Earldom of Carrick; To be holden of the King and his successors for payment yearly of a pound of cumin in the Church of Girvan on St. Cuthbert's day in Autumn.
