NMRS records: The ruins of St Columba's Chapel are still visible on the bank of the Nith. G Chalmers 1824. Its site was pointed out to the surveyor in 1856 by a local informant who stated that his father had removed the ruins. Name Book 1856; W J Watson 1926. The site of this chapel lies on a slight grassy ridge mutilated by small hollows and sand-pits. No trace of the chapel was found. Visited by OS (WDJ) 8 July 1964.
