Notes

NMRS cites(Canmore ID 65462) the OS Name Book (1851) on the claim that 'Peter's Cairn is a considerable cairn of stones erected as a memorial to one Peter, who was a Catholic martyr during the Reformation. It is traditionally erected over his remains.' What the evidence is for this claim is not revealed.
