Notes
The existence of a chapel of this dedication at this place is inferred from Geog. Coll. i, 342, where it is recorded 'In Lochard is a little island called St Mallo where ther was ane old chappell and in another lesser Island or rather a rock called Dundochill is the ruines of an old litle Castell called the Dukes Castell'. The only island in the loch which is greater than that of Duke Murdoch's Castle is Eilean Gorm, so that must be the island indicated by the author.
