The chapel as shown on Roy's map appears to be the same place as the chapel shown on OS 6 inch map at NJ502671, but this is not certain. However, it is unlikely that there would be two chapels in this vicinity, close to the north-eastern boundary of the parish. NMRS records this as 'St Mary's Chapel', but no indication is given as to the evidence for this dedication. It may be that the apparent conflict between St Charity and BVM is that the chapel was dedicated to Our Lady of Charity. The place is shown on Pont MS no. 9 (1583 x 1596) as 'Forskan Kirk', referring to the farm of Farskane (OS 6 inch map) beside which it lay.
