NMRS records: 'St Katherine's Hospital was founded 18th. June 1523, for poor travellers. It was associated with St Katherine's Chapel to the east and was probably conveyed to Patrick Murray in 1567. The hospital and chapel were at the N end of Claypots Wynd.'
