Canmore records of this well: 'A spring beside the ruined chapel near the mill lade'. 'On May 4, 1618, sixteen women were brought before the Kirk Session (of Perth) for superstitiously visiting the well in the bank of Huntingtower where they deposited pins and headlaces.'
