Notes
NGR for Tullynessle Old Parish Church. Modern building, but at site of bell-cote dated 1604, and perhaps on medieval kirk-site. ScotlandsPlaces says that Tullynessle was dedicated to Nechtan. But they cite Scott's Fasti on this, which is unreliable. It is possible that Scott was misled by the superficial similarity of Tullnessle and Tullichtnaythlack, now Tullich, which was dedicated to Nechtan, and appears in the record also as Cill Nachlan.
