NGR is for the parish church, the current one built in 1874 on site of earlier one from 1648. This was probably the earliest parish church, as the parish was earlier part of Drumelzier, and even earlier one of several pendicles of Stobo (see OPS, i, 196 on this). A sculptured stone exists in church which seems earlier. See NMRS for fuller record.
