Notes
NGR is for the area around Hailes, where the original parish kirk presumably stood, and in which area human bones were unearthed when the foundations of a pigeon house were being dug in the eighteenth century (NMRS). The parish kirk was moved to Colinton in 1626. There is a fragment of a medieval grave-slab at the entrance to the church (NMRS) which may have come from the old site.
