The parish of Glencorse was only finally and formally disjoined from Lasswade in 1646 (RPS 1646/11/335): 'the presbitrie of Dalkeith and the comissionars of the generall assemblie unanimouslie all desyring seriouslie that since the kirk of Glencorse is planted with ane minister presented therto be the kingis majestie, it wald therfore please the honorable estates of parliament to pas ane act declaring that parish kirk to be disjoyned from the parochine of Leswaid and deanrie of Lestalrig quherfra it is not thocht as yit to have bene formallie disjoyned by act of parliament, the saidis estates findis the desire foresaid just and reasonable and thairfore they doe heirby disjoyne, dismember and disuneit the foresaid kirk and parochine of Glencorse fra the said parochine of Leswaid and deanrie of Lestalrig, and declares and ordanis the said kirk and parochine of Glencorse to be ane severall parish kirk and parochine of it selfe'
