Notes
The location of the medieval kirk is not certain, but the NGR given here is that of an old cemetery, identified by NMRS as the probable site of the kirk. Note, however, that the remains of a seventeenth-century church at Poolewe (NG 8603 8096) include a circular burial ground which contains an early medieval carved stone, bearing a Pictish symbol, discovered and recorded only in 1992 (See Canmore for further details). It is possible that this was the site of the medieval kirk.
