Fáelán of Clúain Móescna
Introduction
Nothing is known of this saint from Irish sources. Kylmisken is elsewhere associated with Brigit (CGSH 670.33). A Fáelán was widely commemorated in Scotland, apparently on this day. Fáelán's fair was held in January in Killallan, Renfrewshire (Watson 1926, 193) and the Féill Faoláin at Killin was held on 9th Jan (ibid, 184). A translation and commentary on the Fáelán readings in the Aberdeen Breviary for this day are given in Taylor 2001a p 195-201.
